Recommendations

Layout

  • Primary create actions belong in page toolbars at the top left (for example Create Meeting below the page title on listing pages). Child navigation drawers also expose a secondary Create shortcut at the top for quicker access—see Top Level Navigation.
  • Keep the integrated motions table from v2: motioned and seconded columns stay left of member names in one voting panel.
  • Separate prev/next navigation from the item title so the title reads as a distinct field during Run Meeting.
  • Place motion text above the voting and discussion grid; presentation and attached documents remain collapsible above that.
  • Use a two-column lower section: voting panel left, discussion text right.

Voting Controls

  • Add a toolbar above the voter table for Clear Motion/Second, voting method (Voice, Roll Call, etc.), Record Vote, All Yes/No, and bulk Y/N/Abstain for selected voters.
  • Include voter selection checkboxes so clerks can apply one vote choice to multiple members at once.
  • Keep a Nobody row for clearing motion/second assignments.
  • Make Conditional Voters collapsible to reduce visual noise on routine items.

Discussion & Outcome

  • Clicking a voter name still inserts that name into discussion text.
  • Show abstain rationale inline in the discussion panel rather than only in a modal.
  • Move the vote tally into an outcome panel with Approved, Rejected, Deferred (with date), and No Action Taken.
  • Place Secondary Motions in the outcome area so parliamentary actions sit with the final decision.
  • Rename “Copy Votes” to “Apply to Another” with a multi-select checklist and Cancel/OK confirmation.
